Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system is now 30 and the company has found the perfect way to celebrate this as it has revealed the Quattro Concept at the 2010 Paris Auto Show.

The company searched its deepest performance parts treasure chest and selected the RS 5’s platform and body, which have been heavily modified. The wheelbase was trimmed by 150 mm/5.91 inches, 200 mm/ 7.87 inches were taken off the rear overhang, and roofline lowered by 40 mm/ 1.57 inches. The vehicle now measures 4.28 meters (14.04 ft) in length, 1.86 meters (6.10 ft) in width and is 1.33 meters (4.36 ft) tall. The vehicle is a two-seater, just like its predecessor, the 1984 Sport quattro. The body is made of aluminum, with the hood, rear hatch and other components using carbon. All these allow the vehicle to tip the scales at just 1,300 kg (2,866 lbs).

Under the bonnet of the car, we find a tweaked version of the TT RS’ 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine that delivers 408 hp between 5,400 and 6,500 rpm. and a peak torque of 480 Nm (354.03 lb ft) between 1,600 and 5,300 rpm. This is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and sends the power to the road via the latest generation of the quattro AWD system that features the new crown center differential. The powerplant manages to send the lightweight coupe past the 62 mph mark in 3.9 seconds.

The car rides on 20-inch alloy rims that use a central locking mechanism and are wrapped in 275/30 tires.
