AEON Brand History
AEON Motor is a Taiwanese company that produces small bikes, ATVs and scooters, and was founded in 1998. AEON has manufactured plastic parts for motorcycles and scooters under the name of KAUN MEI PLASTIC COMPANY LTD since the 1970s. They started operations in 1999 when they began to mass produce ATVs, mainly for the export market. The AEON Motor Co., Ltd. is operated by Chung Cheih-Lin, with almost 20 years of experience of manufacturing motorcycle parts and R&D.
The first Aeon models were small displacement ones, 50cc and 100 cc, but in the year 2000 they moved on to bigger and better things and developed the first 150cc with reverse gear model. By 2001, the company was already able to produce 52,000 units per year, also releasing a new 180cc engine model.
In order to increase production, the Aeon Motor Company moved its production facility to Shan-Shang in August 2001, and taking advantage of the 33,000 square meters plant they were now able to produce even more units per year. The complete list of models is divided into three categories: ATVs (Aeon 300, Cobra 220, 320, Overland 125/180, Sporty 125/180, Cobra 50/100 and Minikolt 50), scooters (Aero, Pulsar, Echo, Argon, Regal and Nox) and mini-bikes (Mini-Bike). Cobra is one of the most successful quad models of the ATV line. The 320 version has a power of 14.5 kW at 6500 rpm and a torque of 19 Nm at 5500 rpm, while its little brother - with 220cc displacement - develops 9.0 kW at 6800 rpm and a maximum torque of 13.6 Nm at 5750 rpm. The Pulsar scooter is available in three engine variants: 100cc, 125cc and 150cc, all of them available in red, silver or blue. There are two displacements available for the Aero scooter: 50cc and 100cc - red, silver, yellow and blue being the colors available for both of them.
Taking into consideration the market of motorcycles overpopulated, AEON began to create new products of “ Heavy-duty, Diversification, and Leisure”. The first step was made in 1999, when the Taiwanese company sold the first ATV (All Terrain Vehicle). One year later they also signed an agreement of collaboration with the well-known ATV manufacturer, Polaris.
