Remember when we told you a couple of weeks ago about the aerodynamic world records that the Mercedes-Benz current lineup has? Well, in that short report we also talked about the current world record holder for the most aerodynamic production car on the planet – the Mercedes-Benz CLA.
To further support their claims about the CLA, the official Mercedes-Benz YouTube channel just released a short video about the most important areas in which the BlueEfficiency version of the baby-CLA was optimized in order to achieve its unbelievably low aerodynamic drag.
We should remind you that the CLA BlueEfficiency has a Cd value of just 0.22, and all this while not looking as awkward as another “aerodynamic champion” like the Toyota Prius.
How did the Mercedes-Benz engineers and aerodynamicists remained friends with the model's designers is beyond us, but the next animated video pretty much explains all the little details that can make such a feat possible without compromising the design.
