2015 smart forfour Spied For The First Time

We have been reporting about various pre-production prototypes of the upcoming 2015 smart fortwo for quite a few good months now, with the model having been spied all over Europe and even tested until destruction a while back.

This is the first time when one of our spies caught some of its camouflaged forfour brothers though, somewhere near the Daimler AG testing center in Sindelfingen.

As most of you know, the upcoming smart fortwo and forfour share their platform with the recently-unveiled Renault Twingo, all three model having a rear engine and rear-wheel drive.

Unlike the fortwo, which will still be manufactured in Hambach, France, the new forfour will be built alongside the Renault Twingo in Slovenia.

Measuring 3.5 meters in length, the 2015 smart forfour will be a little bit smaller than its first ill-fated generation, but the interior space will be maximized by the positioning of the engine and the wheels.

We are expecting the third generation of the smart fortwo to be unveiled during the summer, with the forfour caught in the adjacent spy photos to be revealed in the fall, most probably at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
