Mercedes-Benz SLC/GT C190 Caught While Being Tested [Photo Gallery]
The first low-budget supercar in Mercedes-Benz history is set to eat a slice of the Porsche 911 and the upcoming Jaguar F-Type Coupe pie, with its pricing to start at around 110,000 Euros for the twin turbocharged V8 model.
We say this because the car is most likely to also offer a twin-turbocharged V6 as a base version, which is set to cost around 80,000 Euros.
The M177 twin-turbocharged V8 is currently being developed by AMG to eventually replace both the M156 6.2-liter normally aspirated V8 and the M157 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8. Made by essentially fusing two M133 four-cylinders from the A 45 AMG together, the new V8 will offer a power range between around 485 hp for the baby SLS to almost 600 hp for its Black Series version and even more for the S 63 AMG facelift in about four years.
According to our exclusive report from a few weeks ago (hooray for quoting ourselves!), a version the C190's aluminium platform will also be used by Aston Martin to completely replace their aging VH architecture.
