Staying on the subject, the engine lineup doesn't suffer from a lack of cylinder volume either, with the lowest displacement engine being a three-liter V6 diesel, while the largest sports no less than 5.5 liters (GL 63 AMG).
Coincidentally, the three-liter diesel in the GL 350 BlueTec model is also the most recommended engine by CarBuyer, whose always lovely Rebecca Jackson reviewer isn't such a fan of the big gasoline V8s in the range.
The biggest downsides found by the following video review are represented by the high option prices, the not-so-great fuel economy of the gasoline engines offered on the GL-Class and the fact that it's a bit of a pain to park because of its gargantuan size.
On the plus side, it's one of the most comfortable SUVs out there, with an upmarket interior, above-average safety features and a very spacious interior compared to its competitors.
