Mercedes-Benz CLA Gets Reviewed by Consumer Reports
The special attention the model received is partly because it’s the first front-wheel drive offering from the Stuttgart brand in the US of A and partly because the base Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 model starts from a very tempting $29,900.
Powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder with just two liters of displacement, the CLA 250 develops 211 hp (208 bhp) and 350 Nm (258 lb ft) of torque, transmitted towards the front wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.
From March 2014, a 4Matic all-wheel drive version will also be available for the US market as well.
Consumer Reports recently had a go at test driving a Mercedes-Benz CLA 250, but unfortunately their opinions about the model weren’t all of the praising nature.
The biggest quarrels were had with the rather stiff suspension, the small headroom in the rear and the fact that optional features can drive the price quite a bit higher than expected, but you should check out their Mercedes-Benz CLA review for the full details.
