Known in Mercedes-Benz nomenclature as the 190, while in the fans' eyes as the original “Baby Benz”, the W201 is now considered the grandfather of the current C-Class line of models.
The model was massively over-engineered for its time, sporting an innovative rear multi-link suspension that its Bavarian rival manufacturer didn't even have on its higher-end models at the time.
Although it was rather successful in Europe, US sales wasn't as great, but in recent years it has transformed into somewhat of a cult Mercedes-Benz in certain car loving circles, especially people that are obsessed with lowered older cars.
Our subject is an Euro-spec looking 190 E Sportline from the US, sporting a couple of 2.3-16 design touches and an awesome set of Borbet wheels. Although it's not an 2.5-16v Evolution II – our favorite 190 – the model is still looking pretty hot.
