A 45 AMG and CLA 45 AMG Get Longer Delivery Times
A new report by Mercedes-Benz Passion states that the demand for the A 45 AMG and the CLA 45 AMG is so high that the Kecskemét factory, in Hungary - where the CLA (C117) and some of the A-Class (W176) production takes place – can no longer cope with orders.
In Germany, the A 45 AMG starts at 49.682,50 Euros, while the CLA 45 AMG starts at 56.078,75 Euros. In other words, they're the cheapest AMG models but they're not exactly peanuts, so the high demand should also translate into a nice profit for the Stuttgart brand.
According to MB Passion, orders taken now can only be covered in December, and the German blog suspects that the delays may also be caused by the slow pace in building the M133 engine, which is still hand made using the “one man, one engine” manufacturing philosophy, like all the other AMG engines.
