Even though the all-new C-Class won't reach UK customers until June this year, Mercedes-Benz has decided to announce the official specifications and pricing for the car as early as today.
Just two engines will be offered at launch, with the C 200 to be powered by a two-liter petrol, while the C 220 BlueTec to sport a 2.1-liter diesel, each of them available with a choice of a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic transmission.
UK customers will be able to choose from no less than three model lines, with SE, Sport or AMG line being available for each of the two engine versions.
The Mercedes-Benz C 200 SE with the six-speed manual transmission will be the cheapest C-Class in Britain, starting at 26,855 pounds, while the C 220 BlueTec SE with the same gearbox will start at 29,365 pounds.
Three further engine versions will follow during the course of 2014 – the C 200 BlueTec, C 250 BlueTec and C 300 BlueTec Hybrid – while the C-Class Estate S205 should also arrive somewhere at the end of the year.
