BMW X5 (E70) 3.0d (2007 - 2009) Description & History: BMW introduced its second generation X5 model in 2006, with full production on the new model starting in 2007. This SUV was built on an entirely new BMW E70 automobile platform, featuring a longer wheelbase and incorporated with a new breed of engines - 6-straight 3.0L and 4.8L V8. The new X5 featured a revised suspension and an improved xDrive all-wheel-drive technology, while also benefiting from a new design line. Also, it was equipped with standard Active Steering and Adaptive Drive systems, enhancing better car's driveability. Also, a new third-row seating option was now available for family customers. The new X5 was rated as the No 1 SUV model in terms of safety standard - by the North-American Insurance Institute for Highway Safety - and was rivaled on the sport utility sector by the Mercedes-Benz ML and Audi Q7.
