PORSCHE 911 Turbo (930) (1974 - 1977)
PORSCHE 911 Turbo (930) (1974 - 1977) Description & History

The 1974 Porsche 911 Turbo is the first turbo model in the whole 911 series, being also the fastest mass production car at the time of its launch. More important, the car was nicknamed The Widowmaker due to the fact that it had a pretty high turbo lag which, combined with the rear-wheel drive, caused a lot of trouble to unexperienced drivers who attempted to accelerate in curves. The car was powered by a 3.0-liter engine which produced 260 horsepower and a maximum speed of 154 mph. Combined with a 4-speed manual transmission, the 911 Turbo could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in no less than 5.7 seconds.
