In 2008 Mercedes-Benz launched a facelifted version of the SLK AMG. The powerhouse behind the bonnet remained the same 5.4L V8 producing 360 hp, but minor changes have been made to the interior and car's aerodynamics. The interior received a more driver-oriented layout, while the front apron has been restyled and front side air intakes have been modified. Other visual changes include the darkened headlights and fog lamps placed further apart to increase the sense of the car's width. With the 2008 model, Mercedes Benz also fine tuned the SLK AMG's handling for a more agile and responsive drive and introduced the direct steering with variable servo assistance.
