BMW 7 Series (E65/E66) 2001 - 2005

The fourth generation 7 Series was introduced by BMW in 2001. The new model was based on German manufacturer's new E65 automobile platform, while a longer wheelbase was also available (5 inches longer). The most important novelty about this new 7 Series (in terms of standard features) was the introduction of an innovative iDrive system (electronically controlling car's climate, audio, navigation, suspension or communication settings). Throughout its 4 years of production (before the 2005 facelift), this model was available with a choice of 12 versions (engine & wheelbase dependent). The units available for the North American market did not feature diesel engines due to emission standards.
