BMW 3 Series (E90) 2005 - 2008

The fifth generation 3 Series was introduced by BMW in 2005. Initially available as a 4-door sedan (based on BMW's all-new E90 automobile platform), this 3 Series benefited from a longer, wider and taller body compared to its previous generation model. Nevertheless, it only weighted 150 lb more than the E46 model thanks to the lightweight components used to manufacture part of the bodywork, suspension and engine. This model was also available on the North American market, while providing the base for a higher-performance M3 version in 2008. In 2008, BMW updated its 3 Series sedan range with a new grille, redesigned front bumper, revised headlamps, restyled wing mirrors and new tail lamps. BMW also brought slight (engine) updates to its 330d model and revised its iDrive system.
