With the new M3 and M4 out in the open and, probably, categorized as ‘Finished Projects’ the M division got to work on new projects that have been waiting for them for quite some time now.
The 2016 BMW X6 is currently being tested as a prototype, waiting to replace the rapidly aging current model somewhere in late 2015. However, next to the standard SAC, the Bavarians will also have to release an M version, to keep the madness alive.

The car in the spyshots below is the aforementioned model, no doubt about it. You can tell by the massive air intakes on the front bumper, the immense wheels and accordingly sized brakes with perforated rotors and blue calipers. Other dead giveaways include the 4 tailpipes at the back and the double spoke design of the front kidney grille with a masked out M badge on it.

As for the engine, expect to see the updated S63Tu to take over from the S63 unit, with 560 HP and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. Even if it’s just a 5 HP increase, you can expect the performance to increase thanks to a lighter construction and new chassis.
