Rare Jewel for Sale: 2001 BMW Z8
The car was designed by Heinrik Fisker and had a monster S62 4.9-liter V8 engine that was "borrowed" from the E39 M5. The only difference was that this car was a roadster whilst the M5 was a saloon and at a curb weight of 1,585 kg, this was and still is a really fast car.
The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is done in 4.2 seconds (whilst the E39 M5 time is 4.8 seconds) and the top speed was limited to 250 km/h. The engine is mounted behind the front axle in order to keep the weight distribution as close to the 50:50 ratio as possible.
The Z8 is, to this day, one of the most exclusive and rare cars that BMW ever produced. History and records don't stop here. The car was quicker than a Ferrari 360 Modena in three important performance categories: acceleration, handling, and braking, according to Car and Driver Magazine.
So, it's no surprise that the asking price for this jewel, found on jameslist.com is €113,361. This model has Alpina wheels and only 17,700 km on the odometer. It has every possible optional installed and drives like day one, especially since it's a BMW. It really is worth the money if you can afford it and it would be a shame to end up in the hand of someone who is not a Bimmer fanatic.
