Entry-Level BMW 4 Series Will Do 62 MPH in 7.3 Seconds
For the US market, it's expected to show up somewhere below the USD40,000 mark, with a couple of nice incentives too, if BMW decides to ship it overseas (which we think might happen).
The 420i will use the company's N20 4-cylinder 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 184 HP and 270 Nm (200 lb-ft) of torque. The standard transmission will be ensured by a 6-speed manual gearbox with an optional 8-speed ZF automatic also available.
The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint will be done in 7.3 seconds and will return an average fuel consumption of 6.1 l/100km (38 mpg) recorded in the European test cycle.
