Custom 2011 BMW E92 M3 Review [Video]
Today, we're in for a treat. We're looking at a review for a modified car. All test-drives are usually done on stock models and that kind of information is no longer useful after you bought a car and you know everything about it.
Most drivers get bored they drive the same vehicle on a daily basis and, after a while, they start looking for areas that could be improved in order to enjoy their cars more. That's when they discover the "art" of tuning.
This is why this review's interesting. The tested 'specimen' is a custom M3. It has a Vorsteiner GTS5 Front Bumper, GTS 3 Vented Hood and an Aero Rear Diffuser. The OEM wheels have been blacked out and - the most important element of the ensemble - an Akrapovic Titanium Exhaust System has been installed.
Actually, the guy who reviews it is not too much into BMWs and you can see it (just look at the name of his channel). He is unaware that the car does not have a Vorsteiner Body Kit (just some bits and pieces), he doesn't know about the automatic gearbox which is a DCT, not E46's SMG and he definitely didn't hear an Akrapovic exhaust before.
The review could, just as well, be called "Akrapovic Titanium Exhaust on an E92 M3" since most times all he talks about is the exhaust. We can understand his excitement because we know how much such an exhaust will change your car but, after all, he did have a job to do.
Anyway, it's refreshing to see test-drives of tuned cars instead of boring, stock ones. Even though he did make some mistakes, not everyone is a BMW aficionado and we can understand that.
Bottom line, this video just goes to show that BMWs have a class of their own when it comes to sheer driving pleasure. Just look at the guy's face when he's driving: priceless.
