BMWs That Will be Missed: The BMW Z3
The Z3 was built in 2 versions: the roadster and the coupe. This was the first new BMW to be produced in the United States.
The car entered production in 1994 and was revealed with a brilliant marketing scheme. It was featured in the James Bond movie, Golden Eye, being the first BMW Bond car. This scheme spiked the sales for the new roadster, more than 15,000 Z3s being sold by the time the car was introduced.
The roadster had a wide array of engines available. They ranged from 1.8-liter to 3.2-liter petrol engines with power outputs between 115 and 320 HP (The last one was fitted on the M version of the Z3). The coupe shared most of the engines and both cars were offered in M versions between 1998 and 2000. They were both replaced by the BMW Z4 in 2003.
