The new MINI comes not only with a new chassis, platform and engine but also with a plethora of new functions, aimed at making your driving experience both more enjoyable and more eco-friendly.
About the latter, the engineers from Oxford decided to incorporate various driving modes into the new models. That’s how the 2014 MINI Cooper, Cooper S and Cooper D got 3 choices, for the first time.
By default, the car is in MID mode which means it will be balanced between the SPORT and GREEN modes, offering a combination of both of them.
Through the new Dynamic Damper Control, another premiere for MINI, the car can be set to have a more sporty feel using the rotary switch located at the base of the gear selector lever, moving it to the left, engaging the SPORT mode.
Now, the car has a different curve of the accelerator and steering whilst the engine acoustics also change alongside the suspension setup.
Going the other way around, into GREEN mode, you’ll notice the other side of the MINI, the one that saves fuel for the sake of the planet. In one word: boring!
