During our test drives, we often found it hard to locate various buttons and understand what they did inside the cabin of our vehicles. Reading the manual might take a long time and could lead to a lengthy lecture.
That's why we thought it would be a good idea to show prospective BMW F15 X5 owners and drivers where the button for heating the steering wheel is and how to operate it.
You'll find this tiny add-on on the left side of the column behind the steering wheel, next to the steering wheel adjustment controls. It has a steering wheel with 3 upward pointing arrows on it and works as a simple on/off toggle. When the red LED is on, the system is working.
The button next to it, the one with 4 arrows pointing in four directions, is the one you'll use to adjust the position of the wheel. The adjustments are now done electrically and not mechanically as they used to once upon a time. For more info, check the video below.
