The 2014 BMW 328i has been named the best sports sedan for the second consecutive year by Consumer Reports, who recently released its Top Picks for 2014.
The organization said it picked the 328i for this category because of its excellent handling, high fun-to-drive factor and superior fuel-efficiency compared to the model it replaced. CR praised the vehicle’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine as well, calling it “quick and thrifty”.
“The 3 Series has long set the standard for sports sedans. And the current model delivers excellent handling and a high fun-to-drive factor. It’s also roomier, more luxurious, and more fuel-efficient than past models. The 328i’s 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine is quick and thrifty, posting 28 mpg overall, which is best among gas-powered models in its class. Ride comfort and fit and finish are also impressive, although the rear seat is a bit snug. A diesel version, called the 328d, is new for 2014,” Consumer Reports said about the 2014 328i.
Moving over to CR’s 2014 Car Brand Report Cards, BMW made the organization’s Top 10 with 66 points. Lexus topped the rank with 79 points. Consumer Reports said it didn’t have brand report cards for MINI because because either it had too few vehicle tests or it lacked ample reliability data.
